occhiolism: the awareness of the smallness of your perspective


I believe that life is a journey in gaining different perspectives, which in turn reveal to me the smallness and singularity of each individual human experience. Through my Master’s research, I learned the importance of taking on new perspectives on the planet in particular, and making it a point to look — up and down — at the world around me. Such observation often shows me both how humans have indelibly altered the natural world, as well as the many ways in which natural law and order persists.
